Sweetheart
It has been less than two months since the last posting, but Shaela is a little girl now. She doesn't like to be called a "girl." She often doesn't like being called "Shaela", associating it with when we are scolding her. She wants to be called
"sweetheart." She also doesn't like other kids being called "sweetheart." She will go up to a perfect stranger and point with a disapproving face, "No call her sweetheart!!!" Preempting any sweetheart calling.
Sometimes she won't let us even call her sweetheart when she is in a bad mood. I then explain to her that she has many names,"Shaela, Boo, Yu Ping, Ping Ping, Shaela Mia, Honey Bunny, Sweetheart, Sweet Pea." She then accepts things better.
She is not into letters as much, but is really expanding on her creativity. She now greets people with a rambunctious double punch with sound effects. The result of having so many boys in her class.
Shaela will be going to the "big class" tomorrow. She is now potty trained (with the exception of when she takes naps and sleeps). She will be joining the other 3-5 year olds and her favorite Martha, with the earth drum. Whenever we want her to do something, and we tell her the advantages of doing it, she'll deny wanting the advantage (even though we know she really wants it). Like learning to potty train, and going to the big class. Or reverse, "If you eat too much sugar, you will get an owie belly." She will say, "I want an owie belly."
Shaela rarely goes into time out anymore. Thank goodness! She has been so good and soooo loving. She kisses our boo boos and says "I'm sorry Mama" if I bang my head by accident or hurt myself. She gives me wonderful long hard kisses on my cheeks. It makes my heart swell.
Shaela has diligently eaten a lot of protein and knows when to cut out "too much sugar." She is 3 ft tall now and a size 3. She hasn't gained much weight and is still under 30lbs but feels heavier, or perhaps it is because my first rib keeps going out from holding her. Thank God for Arsenio for putting my rib back in place every other week, or else, I would not be able to hold her!
Shaela's favorite food now is waffles. We usually have the organic frozen waffles, but when we went to Durango and stayed at the Marriot Residence Inn, they had make your own Belgium Waffles. Shaela now wants the "Big Waffles!"
Before we received Shaela, a psychic told me that she saw my future with my adopted child, and it was so amazingly happy, she was oooing and making joyous sounds watching what she did. I am now living those moments, feeling so joyous, greatful and blessed. We have so much love in our lives it is Heaven on Earth!
Blessings to you all. May you all find Heaven on Earth.
